Being a real mom and the mother to three budding magicians on TV is not the only place where Canals Barrera is being maternal. She recently finished work on the Disney Channel movie "Camp Rock," a singing and dancing effort similar to "High School Musical."
Canals Barrera plays the mom of the movie's lead actress, Demi Lovato.
"Demi and Selena are best friends. So they keep saying about me 'She's my mom' and 'No, she's my TV mom,' " Barrera says.

Scheduled to begin production in September, the flick centers on a teenage girl who desperately wants to spend her summer at a popular rock camp. However, she can only attend if she works in the kitchen as one of the cooks. When a teen pop star at the camp overhears her singing, he embarks on a quest to find the girl behind the beautiful voice. Now, she must face her fears, step out of the kitchen and into the limelight.
